My First Visit to the Dentist
Today, was my first visit to the dentist. We went to First Smile Pediatric Dentistry in Sunnyvale thru Aunty Pauline's & my parents' dentist's recommendations. My parents were a little bit anxious about the visit coz they were afraid that I might freak out and bite the dentist fingers instead. They were in for a nice surprise coz I was very well behaved and co-operative thru out the visit . It helps that the dentist and dental assistant were very nice people and they had a very nice kid friendly clinic too with many toys and books for me to read.
To prepare me for the checkup they let me watch a 2mins video of a monkey who went for a dental checkup .. it was to give me an idea of what I was in for. Once I lay down on the table the dentist starts to count my teeth and check them for cavities.. now I know that I have 20 teeth and I don't have any cavities.. hurrayy!!
The dental assistant then took over. She cleaned my teeth of plague, floss them and even polish them with the machine too and for the last step, she applied fluoride on my teeth to make them strong ( I wasn't suppose to drink or consume anything for 30mins after the fluoride has been applied) . All that time i just opened my mouth wide and didn't complain at all and my parents were beaming with pride. When it was finally time to go home I was given a goody bag full of toothbrush, sticker, crayons and a colouring book with a reminder to brush and floss my teeth everyday. It was a very pleasant experience indeed :)

wowieeee what a brave girl you are Alya!!! Sooo, when is your next visit to the dentist? hmm to think of it, my dental appointment is overdue ;P

sonia babe, it's not scary at all lah.. i think yr courage is hiding in the closet .. go find it quick!

hmmm... glad u enjoyed ur trip @ d dentist... so in 6mths time, im sure u'll strut into d clinic confidently... introducing "Ms. No Fear"....
i really wonder if Qaisara will be as brave as u in d near future... (**,)

U are very brave girl. I kept on reading book about dental visit but until now, I'm not prepare to visit the person with white mask! :P:P

aunty emma.. i'm sure lil Qaisara will be a brave girl too.. tell her she'll get a treat after the dental check up that'll motivate her :)
Qistina babe, just go .. it's not scary at all.. but first yr mum needs to do some research and find the gentlest pediatric dentist in sg :)
