Gardening Day

alya_gardening_day2.jpg

It was a perfect day for planting new flowers in the backyard after 2 days of rain. It has been a dry winter this with very little rainfall but the last 2 days has been a great blessing. Abah decided that today is stay at home day for us since he needs to play soccer at 3.00 p.m. today. He did some errands to the meat shop today and after breakfast, he asked me to help him plant Tulips and Daffodils. It should turn out beautiful in spring if we plant it right and I made sure I dug the ground deep enough to plant the bulbs. It was lots of hard work for me and I was rewarded with a good home made muffins.

are you trying to find out you have green thumbs alya? I'm pretty sure mine aren't, coz i heard it's hereditary. And the plants in my garden don't look so green these days!

so you're a little expert at gardening! that's wonderful, cos now i have something like a garden out front and i have no idea what to do with it. in the singapore tropical weather you can just pop the seeds and something will grow sooner or later right? does your mama plant serai, cili padi, daun kari et al? i'm sure your tulip and daffodils will bloom prettily come spring!

aunty khalidah, we only grow calamansi and the normal cili coz we can get thai cili padi here. We can easily get serai, curry leaves at the asian store and Mamma's trying real hard to grow kunyit for the leaves. Tomato would be nice to plant in spring.
