Hello!

I’m Alya. Thank You for visiting Little Alya’s Giggles. I thought I should share some random snippets about myself in case I become reallyyyy famous one day (chewahhh!) at least people will have more things to gossip on.

• I was born in Singapore on June 23rd 2004 and moved to California on October 2nd 2004.
• I’m ½ Chinese and ½ Malay (Bugis) from my mum’s side and ½ Malay (Bugis), ¼ peranakan, ¼ Portugese from my Abah’s side of the family. A little bit rojak but that’s what makes me.. ME!
• My favourite colours is yellow (I still pronounce it as lellow!)
• I’m not very adventurous when it comes to food. My favourite food is prata with curry, fried rice, pizza, pasta alfredo or aglio olio and mac n cheese but go easy on the cheese. I love linguini with just melted butter too.
• The only fruits that I eat are apples, bananas and grapes. I only started eating grapes last summer!
• I have problem sitting thru animated movies like Nemo, Ratatouille .. I don’t like violent scenes eventhough they are pretty mild by most people’s standards.
• I want to be a neurologist when I grow up or rather that’s what my parents been drumming into my head since I was old enough to remember things.
• I love chocolates! I will only eat cakes that are brown in colour (has choc in it geddit).. even if it’s a nice looking cake I won’t eat it if there’s no trace of chocolate in it. Same thing goes for ice-cream only chocolate flavoured ice-cream.. no vanilla or strawberries.
• I have to sleep with bobo, my gymboree clown puppet next to me. He’s pretty torn and tattered and eventhough I have another new nicer looking gymboree clown puppet.. smelly bobo is still my favourite coz he’s so ticklish.
• My favourite juice is hansen’s apple juice. I have a hard time finding apple juice that suits my taste bud in Singapore.. most of the juice are very sweet till I found popper juice.. it’s a little sourish.. i loike
• I am always ready to smile for the camera.
• I don’t like airplane food.. my mum has to bring lots of snacks and even fried rice for me coz I always refuse to eat the food served on the airplane.
• I don’t like to sleep on the airplane.. the most I sleep is just 4hrs on our recent 18hrs trip to Spore.
• I have two dimples .. I get them from Abah.
• My favourite animal is a hammerhead shark. My favourite dinosaur is tyrannosaurus rex.
• What are my most repeated word ? Give me 5 more minutes pleaseeee.
• I don’t eat candy.. if you give me lollipop.. i will take it.. lick it like 4 times then just hold it for the rest of the time till Mamma takes it away from me.
• I dislike medicine.. my parents always have to sneak in a few drops of medicine into my milk whenever I’m sick and no more than 5mls coz I’ll notice the different taste and will then refuse my milk. I don’t even take multi-vitamins in those gummi bear form.
• I don’t eat vegetables though my parents have tried few times successfully most times not to sneak in vegetables in between my rice. The closest thing to vegetable that I eat is sweet potato and it must be in lemak gravy.
• I don’t like french fries, mashed potatoes and potatoes cooked in any other manner except if they are stuffed into curry puffs.
• The only malay kuih that I eat is epok² or curry puffs. I refuse to try any of the colourful and supposedly yummy malay kuihs that Mamma have made so far.
• I like to watch The Land Before Time, Bindi the Jungle Girl, The Magic School Bus and Little Einstein on tv.
• I love classical music and my favourite is Vivaldi’s The Four seasons. I’ve been listening to it since I was in Mamma’s tummy and Little Einstein sure helps to reinforce my love for classical music.
• My blog has gone thru 3 title changes.. Little Alya’s Gurgles when I was a teeny weeny baby to Little Alya’s Babbles when I started to baby talk or babble and now that I’m bigger it’s Little Alya’s Giggles when actually I don’t just giggle.. I laugh out very loud.
• I didn’t leave my heart in Singapore.. I left my cord blood cells with Stemcord blood bank.
