We were at a bookshop yesterday when I came across an interesting book.
Excited with my new find, I quickly showed it to Mamma.

Look Mamma, this is a half!

Mamma, took one look at it then said That’s 6/12, Alya.

She took a while to digest and did some mental calculations , then with wonder in her eyes and looking very excited, Mamma exclaimed.

You’re right , 6/12 is equal to half (1/2) .. amazing!! How do you know that ?

Mamma then looked for Abah and showed him the fraction book. Abah looked very sceptical, he showed me another fraction 1/2 … what’s this Alya ? Offcourselah .. I said half.

Then he showed me another fraction, 4/12 .. this one ?

My answer was half :))

Okaylah so I’m not a math genius and haven’t learn anything about fraction yet. Actually it was Abah who showed me the 3 1/2 ” mark in the swimming pool the other day and since then I’ve associated all fractions with half . Kwang.. kwang .. kwang ..
