Finally someone is speaking up for kids who gets a slap on their bottom in the name of discipline when their parents are not happy for their misbehavior. That’s what I heard on the news today that California is considering a No Spanking Bill that bans parents from spanking their kids 3 years or younger. If the bill is passed, any parents caught red handed can be jailed up to 1 yr or fine up to $1000. First time offenders may be sent to parenting classes.

My parents are horrified off course, they have been guilty of this a few times before. I cannot recall why nor when was the last time I got a slap on my butt (cushioned by diapers offcourse).. it must have been a long time ago. But it must have done me some good coz I haven’t been misbehaving or throwing horrible tantrums since then. If this bill is passed, I guess my parents and many others alike have to resort to other means of disciplining their kids .. which is probably going to be a little challenging. I know that for a fact coz I’m one of those kids where naughty stool or time-out methods just doesn’t work.

While I’m happy that the people in power wants to protect kids like me from harm, I wonder whether is it really necessary to have this bill implemented.. will it really make the world a better place for the children. Most parents like mine love their kids very much and I don’t think they spank for the fun of it nor do they intend to do any harm. Maybe they should consider having a NO TV bill or Read to your kids 3hrs a day or No sweets and soda for the kids bill instead .. that will probably be do me a lot more good.
