We went to Borders on Friday and my parents bought for me my first Science Fiction book called September Snow which was autographed by the author himself. How cool! I’m too young to read that thick book but the author said I can read it when I’m older.

I bought a few other books too, A Curious George book and three from my favourite author, Dr Seuss, so now I have 12 of his books.

Just thought I’d share some of the other books that I’ve been reading ..
Jamberry by Bruce Degen is the best rhyming book I’ve read (other than Dr Seuss). The story is about a bear and a little boy who goes around the countryside looking for berries. The pictures are nice and cute and the rhyming is out of the world.

The Cat In the Hat by Dr Seuss. This is a classic. The story is a bit lengthy (not for a tiny tot with short attention span) but it’s really funny. I make Mamma read it to me almost every day even when she’s having a sore throat and what’s best is that she loves to read it too. A word of warning though .,, this is not a book to be read before bedtime coz it’ll make the kid excited and hyper.

Some other Dr Seuss’ books that you might want to check out are One Fish Two Fish Blue Fish Red Fish, Ten Apples Up On Top, Mr Brown Can Moo, The Cat in the Hat Comes Back and Green Eggs and Ham

Tails by Matthew Van Fleet is a fun touch and feel book about what else but Tails! Tails of all sizes some short and stumpy, some stringy and some can be scaly or stinky. The rhyming verses is a bit limited but I still love this book coz I can pull the tails and make it go swat swat swat.

SightWord Reader by Scholastic. This is a collection of 25 short and simple story books but definitely not boring for kids who are learning to read or recognize words. The boxed set has 50 of the most frequently used sight words and each book teaches 2 sight words which will be repeatedly used in the sentences on every page of the book. I’ve not recognized any of the sight words though.. maybe I don’t read it as often as I should.

Chicka Chicka Boom Boom by Bill Martin Jr. The story is about the alphabets a,b,c wanting to climb up the coconut tree and then all the other alphabets race up the coconut tree too. The inevitable happens .. they all fall down. Very catchy rhythm and a fun read for both parents and kids.

Tell me my friend, what is your favorite book ?
