We had a simple mission at Toy R Us today to get Iman a birthday present for this Saturday’s party. We left home at 7.30 p.m. and it was very cold with slight rain (yes after 5 months of dry season). I was enjoying myself and browsing through shelves of toys and games and more toys and so on until Mamma showed me a box full of toy food for my kitchen and got me excited. We put that in the shopping cart and moved on. Next we stopped at Play-Doh aisle and they have a discount from $29.90 to $24.90 for the Play Doh creativity center with free Play-Doh color sets worth $4.99. Abah asked if I wanted this set of toys and I hugged him and mamma and said “Yes, please”. I wanted to go home immediately after abah paid for the toys but we had to go Bed, Bath and Beyond to return an item and look for mamma’s Kitchen Aid Mixer.

Nunu : I’m serious Nunu. You’ve got to learn the art of getting things from your parents without asking. Act as if you’re not interested eventhough you really want the toy, when your parents ask you whether you like the toy say Yes.. please, hug them, kiss them and say thank you. No use throwing tantrums or worse lay on the floor and kick up a fuss .. that’ll make your parents upset and most of the time they’ll bring you straight out of the toyshop coz they don’t want you to use that ploy again to get what you want. Oh and if possible time your visits to the toy shop during sales.. most adults cannot resist sales and discounts.. it’s like they’re saving money when actually they’re spending them .
